Booking an all-inclusive resort is an excellent option for groups, as there’s a little bit of something for everyone. And most importantly, you won’t have to plan where to eat, what to do, or even where you spend your evenings. With unlimited dining options, delicious drinks, and complimentary water sports and outdoor activities, inclusive hotels can really make entertaining large groups a breeze.

What is the Best All-Inclusive Resort in Mexico for Groups?

Mexico is a huge country, and deciding where to stay will depend on your group’s budget and interests. For example, partygoers looking for non-stop fun should stay at a resort with lots of nightly entertainment, like Hotel RIU Santa Fe or Breathless Riviera Cancún Resort & Spa.

On the other hand, those seeking a quieter and more relaxing getaway can choose a more luxurious resort, like the Finest Playa Mujeres or the Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos

Of course, there are plenty of great resorts that combine the best of both worlds. In this article, I’ll share a few of the best all-inclusive resorts for different types of groups to help make planning your trip to Mexico as simple as possible.

Finest Playa Mujeres

When traveling with a group, space is one of the most important features you should look for. Thankfully, the all-suite rooms at the Finest Playa Mujeres give you and all your friends plenty of room to sprawl out. Their most basic suites can accommodate up to 4 people, while their family suites can sleep up to 5.

But that’s only one reason to book your stay here. With ten pools, 12 restaurants and bars (with 24-hour room service), and tons of exciting activities (think cooking lessons, dance classes, and live nightly entertainment), you and your friends can stay here for weeks without ever getting bored. With the abundance of activities, gourmet restaurants, and a spectacular location on Playa Almada, it’s no wonder why the Finest Playa Mujeres has been rated one of the top all-inclusive resorts in Mexico.

Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta

The Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta is a beautiful all-inclusive property with tons of terrific amenities for groups. Those seeking rest and relaxation can leisurely spend the day at the five pools (two of which are adult-only), while more active guests can participate in kayaking, whale-watching, dance classes, or daily fitness classes. And the fun doesn’t stop when night falls. Beach parties, adult-only foam parties, Mexican-themed celebrations, and nightly live DJs will make sure you’re groovin’ all night long.

If food is important to you (like it is to me), then you’ll love the on-site restaurants at the Hyatt Ziva. There are ten restaurants here, including fine-dining Italian, beachside Asian fusion, traditional-style Mexican, and my favorite, the adults-only Tequila Bar.

Hotel RIU Santa Fe

If you’re looking for one of the best all-inclusive resorts where you can relax and party, then look no further than the Hotel RIU Santa Fe in Los Cabos. During the day, you can lounge at one of the ten swimming pools or swim in the warm waters of your private beach. There’s even an on-site water park, Splash Water World if you’re looking for something a bit more exhilarating.

But the main reason why the RIU Santa Fe earns a gold star for group travel is for the wild pool parties. They host adult-only themed parties four times a week, with live DJs and acrobatic performances. The Jungle Party and Pink Party happen during the day on Mondays and Fridays, while the Neon Party and White Party take place on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. Make sure to pack a costume if you want to really participate in the fun.

Hilton Playa del Carmen

The Hilton Playa del Carmen is one of Mexico’s best adults-only all-inclusive resorts. All the rooms here are suites, with the smallest clocking in at still a spacious 653 square feet. If you plan on hosting a few get together at your place, try to book one of the suites with swim-up pool access (it’s the perfect hang-out area for groups).

But if you’d rather take advantage of all the fun activities, there are Latin dance lessons, water Zumba classes, and live cooking demonstrations you can attend too. While there is live music every night, you can also head out of the hotel to the Riviera Maya’s most famous street – Fifth Avenue. Here you’ll find lots of bars, restaurants, and nightclubs to keep everyone in your group entertained.

Breathless Riviera Cancún Resort & Spa

With colorful modern decor, hip bars and restaurants, and tons of festive-themed parties, Breathless Riviera Cancún Resort & Spa caters to a younger crowd. Its mid-range price point also makes it a popular destination for bachelor and bachelorette parties. But that’s not to say it’s wild 24/7. During the day, you’ll have two pools and a wide stretch of white sand beach where you can relax and lounge in the sun. And if you need some extra peace and quiet, I recommend booking a treatment at their world-class Spa by Pevonia.

For non-stop fun, book one of the rooms in the Xcelerate Party Zone, which is located near the lively party pool and 35-person hot tub. If that will be too noisy for you, you can also stay in the Allure Area (near the main part of the hotel) or the exclusive and quiet Xhale side.

Villa del Palmar Beach Resort and Spa Cabo San Lucas

Budget travelers can still have a fun-filled vacation in Mexico, especially if you book a stay at the Villa del Palmar Beach Resort and Spa in Cabo San Lucas. There are countless activities that are included with your room rate, from mixology classes to Latin salsa dancing. You and your friends will also love the themed nightly events (the Mexican fiesta and the Mamma Mia ABBA sing-a-long show are two of my favorites).

Although the Villa del Palmar is just one mile from downtown Cabo San Lucas, it feels like a world away, thanks to its picturesque location on Medano Beach. While you won’t need to leave the property for food (there are four restaurants and a buffet), this part of the beach is also home to some great al fresco restaurants that you can check out.

Secrets the Vine Cancun

The chic and contemporary Secrets the Vine is another adults-only resort on the beautiful Hotel Zone strip in Cancun. You’ll be staying right on the sparkling white shores of the Caribbean, the perfect destination for swimming, snorkeling, jet skiing, parasailing, and more. The infinity pools on the hotel terrace offer dramatic views of the ocean and a protected spot to sunbathe away from the beach crowds.

Activity-wise, there’s always something happening at this luxury resort. Beach parties, wine pairings, fitness classes, and dance lessons are just a few fun things included in the rate. The hotel has some great bars and restaurants, but there isn’t a nightclub, so I don’t think it’s the best choice for partygoers. But if you’re looking for a comfortable stay where you can discover the best of what Cancun has to offer, the Secrets the Vine is an excellent choice.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination Riveria Maya

For those who prefer adventure over lay beach days, staying at Occidental at Xcaret Destination Riveria Maya is a no-brainer. That’s because it’s located on 25 acres next to the Xcaret eco-archeological park, where you can explore underground rivers, visit ancient Mayan ruins, and see wild animals like jaguars, manatees, and monkeys.

However, the hotel itself is equally as entertaining, as it features seven pools, an on-site dolphinarium, tennis courts, a fitness center, and a world-renown spa. If you get hungry, you’ll be spoiled for choice amongst the 11 restaurants and 10 bars. Rooms are a tad on the smaller side (344 sq ft), but with so many fun activities, you likely won’t be there for much of your stay.

Iberostar Paraiso Maya

The family-friendly Iberostar Paraiso Maya is one of the most unique hotels on the Riviera Maya. It’s modeled to look like Chichén Itzá – the most famous Mayan ruins from Pre-Colombian times. There’s even a lazy river (in addition to the eight pools), so you can really feel like you’re immersed in the middle of the Mexican jungle. Other hotel facilities include a golf course, dive center, game room, waterpark with seven water slides, and over 15 bars and restaurants.

There are rooms of all shapes and sizes to accommodate your group. For large parties, book the two-bedroom family suite, which comes with one king bed, two queen beds, and a pull-out sofa sleeper.

Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos

While the Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos is on the pricier end of the spectrum, it offers a true luxury all-inclusive experience for those who want to treat themselves on vacation. And although this beachfront resort features top-notch amenities and award-winning service, it’s anything but stuffy, making it the perfect getaway for groups (it’s an adult-only resort, so no kids!).

As with most all-inclusive resorts, meals, drinks, live entertainment, and activities are also included with your room (which all have either ocean or partial-ocean views). However, the hotel also has a few unique perks that I think take it to the next level. For example, when you stay here, you’ll have a personal butler to help you plan your day, unpack your suitcase, and even draw you an aromatherapy bath. This is a huge perk that really elevates your experience.

Reef 28 Playa del Carmen

Located just one block from the beach, Reef 28 Playa del Carmen is an affordable adult-only resort in the heart of downtown Playa del Carmen. It feels more like a boutique hotel, with only 120 rooms – all of which are suites with separate living areas and private terraces. Booking the all-inclusive package is optional, although I highly recommend it considering it includes all meals, drinks, and 20% off at the on-site spa. It’s also an excellent option for groups, as there are discounts on group room bookings as well as special packages, amenities, and offers for bachelor and bachelorette parties.

Compared to other resorts, there aren’t as many activities offered at the hotel, although you can always book excursions with the concierge. However, Reef 28 does have a fantastic rooftop pool and bar, with live music and DJs four nights a week.

Dreams Natura Resort & Spa

The beachfront Dreams Natura Resort & Spa is the ultimate tropical getaway for all types of travelers, including families, couples, and of course, groups. Although the ocean is right outside your doorstep, you won’t need to go far to enjoy a day of water activities. The hotel has four pools, a children’s splash park, a water park (with water slides and raft slides), and a lazy river. And throughout the day, there’s a seemingly endless list of activities like live music, Spanish lessons, cooking classes, top-shelf tequila tasting, bingo, and so, so much more.

But if you and your friends are here for a spa weekend, you’re in for a treat. The Spa by Pevonia was designed to look like a cenote, with limestone cave relaxation areas and soaking pools.

Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa

With over 300 acres of tropical grounds, the sprawling Grand Palladium White Sand Resort & Spa is one of the best bang-for-your-buck resorts in the Riviera Cancun area. Six pools, a world-class spa, and high-end sports facilities (tennis courts, basketball courts, indoor and outdoor soccer pitches, and archery fields) will surely have something for everyone in your group. And no one will ever go hungry as there are nine à la carte options, five show cooking restaurants, and 21 bars.

One of my favorite features about the Grand Palladium is the sheer abundance of wildlife that you can see. Tropical birds, flamingos, iguanas, and even crocodiles (which are secure in a little enclosure) can be seen during your stay.

Choosing a hotel that caters to all people in your party may seem like a challenge. But that’s what’s great about an all-inclusive resort. They offer different activities, restaurants, and excursions that are guaranteed to please even the most fickle of travelers. Mexico is one of my favorite countries in the world, and it’s something that everyone should explore at least once in their lifetime. Just book one of these all-inclusive hotels and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about!
