Where to Stay in Big Sky?
There are three main places to stay in Big Sky – Mountain Village, Moonlight Basin, and Meadow Village. Mountain Village and Moonlight Basin are close to the ski lifts and have a variety of shops, restaurants, and activities. However, they can be more expensive compared to staying outside of the resort area in Meadow Village.
All locations offer different styles of lodging, including hotels, vacation rentals, and resorts.
Where to Stay in Mountain Village
If you want to be in the middle of all the action, Mountain Village is the place to be. Mountain Village has the widest selection of apartments and hotels, which means you should have no problem finding a place that suits your budget.
Budget Accommodation
Corral Motel
The historic Corral Motel has been entertaining guests at Big Sky for over 70 years. They have 8 rooms (don’t expect anything too fancy) as well as a lively restaurant and bar.
Location-wise, you’ll be within walking distance to the Gallatin River and numerous hiking and snowmobiling trails. And during the winter, the motel offers a shuttle bus directly to the Big Sky Resort and Meadow Village.
Mid-Range Accommodation
The Lodge at Big Sky
The Lodge at Big Sky is the perfect jumping-off point for exploring the area. You can reach Lone Peak slopes and Big Sky Resort on foot, while the hotel’s complimentary shuttle can take you to the other lifts in just a few minutes.
The rooms are spacious and come equipped with a mini kitchenette. There’s also an indoor pool, four hot tubs, and an on-site bar.
Huntley Lodge

The condos are located at the base of Lone Mountain, close to restaurants and shops.
Where to Stay in Moonlight Basin
While there aren’t many hotels in the Moonlight Basin area, plenty of condos and vacation rentals are available. This makes Moonlight Basin a great choice for long-term stays. However, you won’t find many budget-friendly places to stay. Most rentals in Moonlight Basin are on the upper end of the price spectrum.
Budget Accommodation
Cozy get away for 2 overlooking Lone Mountain
This beautiful 1 bedroom apartment is located on the lower level of the owner’s cabin. It features a spacious yard and stunning views of Lone Mountain. A hot tub is also available to guests.
The home is on a quiet road on the east side of Moonlight Basin. Ski-in/ski-out is possible to the nearby Cascade lift.
Mid-Range Accommodation
Saddle Ridge
The townhomes at Saddle Ridge are well equipped for both short and long-term stays in Big Sky. Choose from a 2- or 3-bedroom home and enjoy quick and easy access to the nearby Pony Express chair lift.
All townhomes have a private outdoor hot tub, perfect for soothing those aching muscles after a day on the slopes.
Cowboy Heaven Cabins

Staying in Meadow Village means you’ll be further from the slopes, approximately a 10 to 15-minute drive. However, you will be centrally located next to the Gallatin River, the Big Sky Golf Course, and the bustling downtown center.

As one of the only hotels in Meadow Village, the Residence Inn is one of the hippest places to stay in Big Sky. All rooms have spa-like bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens, so they’re suitable for extended stays as well.
You can take advantage of the hotel amenities during your stay, including a fitness room, outdoor pool, and restaurant. A complimentary shuttle is also available if you want to visit the ski resort.
