Where is Cabo San Lucas?

Cabo San Lucas is a resort community located on the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, in the Mexican province of Baja California Sur.

As of the 2020 census, the population was a tad of 200,000. The Cabo area is a prime source of revenue for Mexican resort destinations, offering extensive marine life, surfing, and swimming.

There is a vibrant nightlife scene with numerous resorts, dance clubs, and hotels situated all around downtown Cabo San Lucas.

The laid back atmosphere guarantees the creation of many venues attracting the attention of both tourists and locals alike.

The area of Cabo San Lucas is a spring break destination for hundreds of thousands of young people who descend on the Mexican resort during spring break every year.

By far the largest venue in town, this insanely popular dance club spans three floors of amenities; five bars, private VIP areas, a full kitchen, and more.

The atmosphere is wild and free, so don’t be surprised to see people dancing from every corner or on top of the tables. You will have no trouble finding this fun bar, just follow the rest of the Cabo party goers.

Located in the heart of the Cabo’s nightlife district, the El Squid Roe is one of the wildest late night clubs.

Every evening and morning, the DJs will keep the party scene rolling with the most incredible dance beats in town.

The bar is one of the best dance clubs in Baja, and is built around a house party theme, with three floors of dance areas. It includes a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and has special drink prices almost every few days.

Cold beer and bottle service is also available. VIP areas are limited and need to be reserved in advance.

The Cabo nightlife vibe would be off without the jam packed, three floors that make up the El Squid Roe.

Minors are allowed until 10:30 pm. The dress code is casual, but you must have a shirt and shoes on to enter.

The DJs play all kinds of music, from classics from the 70s, 80s, and 90s to the latest Hip-Hop and Dance Party hits.

If Squid Roe is one landmark establishment for experiencing incredible nightlife in downtown San Lucas, the other is Cabo Wabo Cantina.

Founded by the rock and roll band Van Halen’s lead guitarist, Sammy Hagar, this bar features live entertainment seven nights a week. (Don’t be surprised if you happen to see the Red Rocker himself, especially for a birthday bash in October). Many rock and roll legends have played here at the invitation of the Red Rocker.

Cabo Wabo Cantina has been a destination spot for even cruise ship passengers since its inception in 1990. With glamorous decor that’ll inspire your hard rocker days, the bar offers 2-for-1 drinks (until the happy hour ends at 6 pm).

Club Cabo Wabo is open daily from 9 am – 4 am, with a nightclub atmosphere beginning around 10:30 pm.

The vibe is somewhat touristy, but the house band provides great live music. You enjoy some of the best of the Cabo Wabo way of life.

Mandala Los Cabos

This Cabo San Lucas club is a more traditional dance club located in the downtown nightlife district.

Situated next door to El Squid Roe, this bar has a huge dance floor, and international DJs. This sexy downtown nightclub is one of the top spots for celebrities to frequent, so you will want to stay for more than a few drinks.

If dimly lit clubs with a smoke-filled atmosphere is your vibe, this is the club for you. If you can’t get into El Squid Roe, it’s just a few steps to another great nightlife scene.

There is no cover, but you do have to buy a package before coming (which means making reservations online in advance). The club has a casual wear dress code.

The downtown Cabo San Lucas club is known for its Halloween festivities, New Year’s Eve party, and several other events throughout the year. Try the delicious cocktail-crafted menu for a great party starter.

Pros:

Crush Nightspot – Cabo San Lucas

Crush is a unique club located in downtown Cabo and offers some of the best hip-hop music and the hardest partying compared to other late night clubs (and that is saying a lot).

The state-of-the-art light and sound system will get the great house beats booming, while different dancing levels let you shake your groove thing anywhere, even above the bar.

While this downtown Cabo San Lucas nightspot offers a fun night, it is small and very intimate, so it gets packed with tourists and locals almost every night.

(Don’t even bother trying to go on spring break trips). You don’t have to pay a cover to get in, but you probably should make reservations to get a table; otherwise, you’ll be standing all night.

The bar is packed, so don’t expect to get a seat there, either. Like most local hangouts, bottle service is offered.

Crush has some of the best nightlife and is the place for R&B and Hip-hop music. The facilities are dark, reminiscent of clubs in Atlanta or Miami.

Crush has theme nights every day, like Locals Go Loco Tuesday. While Crush might be the most fun bar, no food is served here, just a party atmosphere all night long.

Pros:

  • More intimate setting, but it fills up quick
  • Parties until 5 am.
  • Lots of fantastic Hip-Hop music

Cons:

  • It gets hot from the body heat – too crowded at times
  • No food
  • No cover – but make reservations if you want to get in.

For more information, please see the Crush Nightspot website.

This bar and nightclub is a favorite of locals and tourists alike with fishing boats gently rocking in the Cabo San Lucas marina just off the patio.

Established in 1994 to meet the burgeoning demand of cruise customers and tourists looking for an upscale nightclub, Nowhere Bar brought the vibe to the tribe. The bar opens at noon and closes at 3 am the next morning, seven days a week.

The Nowhere Bar is anything but quiet as the place can be as packed as other nightlife clubs. A disco-lit floor is a lot of fun, and the DJs work hard to keep the crowd moving.

Most of the locals prefer to eat at one of the marina restaurants close by.

While the Nowhere Bar might attract a slightly older crowd, it’s a great party scene.

One of the best reasons to go is that happy hour lasts until 9 pm, and this is one of the best places to have a cold beer for just a couple hours while you enjoy watching everyone else party.

Pros:

  • Great atmosphere
  • Overlooks the marina

Cons:

  • The bar can be packed at times.
  • Lack of food options.
